The origin of NP begins overseas in 1999 with co-founders B-b0y [Brian Peaslee] & The Mixican [Elias Carlon]. Together, they established themselves as ‘the duo’ that could cater to any crowd with a diverse range in style & music. After attracting a substantial following, they launched a brand new crew & label with the name 'Neighborhood Productions'.
In two years they brought together an incredible roster of local and international DJs under one roof. From throwing party after successful party, it didn't take long for NP to receive recognition worldwide.
In 2002, after blowing up the scene and packing in venues since inception, the original members (B-b0y, The Mixican, Puzl [Corey Soto], Mike Avecilla, Pat Blaze, and Chico Jones) all returned to the U.S. to pursue their respective careers, taking a break from the scene to grow with their families, and pursue their other goals & dreams. During this period, Neighborhood receded to the background as the crew went their separate ways.
In early 2003, Neighborhood Productions reemerged, starting with a singular vision from diehard EDM fan and DJ, Sebotage [Seb Smith]. Seb collaborated with B-b0y to bring back the NP name and start an all-new chapter here in the Midwest.
In a matter of months, Neighborhood was back on the map, showcasing the rawest talent the Midwest region has to offer, and graced with a new generation of hot and upcoming artists from the United States.
Today, the crew has grown to almost a dozen hand-picked DJs/Producers from all corners of U.S., including new artists Akira (Providence, RI), Blacklist (Philadelphia, PA), Bizquik (Kansas City, MO), Jason Avey (San Diego, CA), William Todd (Atlanta, GA), Decention (Japan), Goldenchild (San Francisco, CA), $paid (Gainesville, FL) and of course, chapter co-founder Sebotage (Wichita, KS). The pooling of each artists' diverse talents and energy is the cornerstone of the Neighborhood Family's continued success.
Since 1999, NP has showcased a great number of events and played along side world renowned EDM artists: Carl Cox, Derrick May, System F, Miguel Migs, Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, Simply Jeff, General Midi, Uberzone, Twocker, NAPT, and the Autobots, to name a few. Our widespread fan base is dedicated to keeping the music alive over the years, and continues to grow.
